Hawaiian Heritage Music Series: Kanikapila Jam & Talk Stories

Calling all musicians, students, teachers, and music lovers! Join us for the inaugural event of the Hawaiian Heritage Music Series, where Raiatea Helm will lead us through an interactive Kanikapila jam session. Prepare your instruments and your voices for this unique opportunity to play and sing along with Raiatea from the comfort of your own home! In addition to her Grammy nominees, 6 Nā Hōkū Hanohano awards, and Native Arts & Cultures Fellowship, Raiatea is committed to the education and preservation of the authenticity of mele “Hawaiian īmusic”.

Raiatea will be accompanied by acclaimed Kī Hō’alu (Hawaiian slack-key guitar) artist George Kuo. Legendary conductor, performer, scholar and former Bandmaster of the Royal Hawaiian Band Aaron Mahi will join the duo, weaving stories of tradition and folklore throughout the event.

RSVP is required for all attendees. A Zoom link will be shared via email by the morning of the event.
