MTNA national Competitions

The MTNA National Competitions provide opportunities for serious musicians in junior high, high school, and college/university to compete at a national level. Competitions are held at the state level first. Hawaii State winners move on to the video-only Southwest Division Competition. Division winners are invited to compete at the live Final Round at the MTNA National Conference (March 21-25, 2020 in Chicago, IL). HMTA is proud to offer recording and financial assistance to our local students who advance to the Division and National competitions.

HMTA Cover Art Contest

HMTA’s annual Cover Art Contest allows Hawaii’s music students to showcase their talents in the visual arts. The winning design will be featured on the Hawaiʻi State Music Competition Booklet, the HMTA Directory and Website, and also wins a cash prize and recognition at the annual Honors Concert.
